Twenty-one keen volunteers enjoyed the perfect planting weather on Sunday, participating in the Upper River Torrens Landcare Group’s Plant the future: Learn, grow, connect event funded by Landcare Australia.
The project aimed to provide a learning opportunity for new landholders to gain a deeper understanding of the what, why, when, and where of revegetation to ensure success. Planting techniques, guard installations, and where to plant what were all part of the experience, as well as meeting like-minded locals and sharing lunch, made for a great day.
A new fence was installed before the event, and 400 grassland species were planted to increase biodiversity on the property further enhancing other conservation areas on the Mount Pleasant property.
